Idea Lab

Idea Lab was created to equip individuals with the entrepreneurial mindset and skills to prepare them to be entrepreneurs and innovators in whatever industry they choose.

After a decade of providing entrepreneurial training for small business owners, SpringGR realized that many individuals have an idea or vision of a business concept they would like to see grow into a viable venture. Our goal is to meet individuals where they are in their entrepreneurial journey and provide them with the tools, resources, and learning opportunities to equip them as they take the next steps in their business ventures.

This 14-week training program begins with a 4-week focus on the individual as an entrepreneur. The following ten weeks of the program dive into the business concepts, including a concise plan to start and utilize lean start-up principles.

You have a Dream?

This program was created specifically by entrepreneurs for those who have an idea and haven’t made any sales yet. This program is tailored for aspiring entrepreneurs in the early stages of developing their business concepts. The ideal participants have the ambition and vision to bring their ideas to life but may lack the foundational knowledge or experience. These individuals are characterized by their entrepreneurial spirit and are seeking a structured small business training program to guide them through the initial steps of their journey.

We have a program!

SpringGR Idea Lab aims to provide valuable insights, practical skills, and mentorship to empower these budding entrepreneurs, helping them transform their business ideas into successful ventures by bridging the gap between conception and the first sale.

This 14-week program is twofold.

For the first four weeks, the class focuses 80% on the individual and 20% on business.

Topics include:

  • Overcoming fears, developing a growth mindset, and making personal sacrifices.

  • Valuing Social Capital, Intellectual Capital, and Financial Capital.

  • Setting goals and creating a business, not a job.

  • Caring for your mental health and personal finances

Outcome: Participants will have a better understanding of what it takes personally to be a business owner, identify their obstacles, begin to set goals, and create a system for a business.

In the following ten weeks, the class focus shifts to 20% on the individual and 80% on business.

Topics include:

  • Business Model Canvas learning process

  • Market & Customer Research

  • Learn & Do class/ Business coaching with facilitators.

  • Landing page build & final demonstration project

Outcome: Participants will understand the business model canvas process and apply the principles to their business idea using research to explore each category.  Participants will produce a landing page and display their business idea with a plan to get started and utilize lean start-up principles.

Requirements:
No previous training experience is needed. Attendance is required to continue the program and graduate. *Class fees are not refunded if you’ve been dropped from the program because of more than two absences.
